Job Summary:
Provide supervision, leadership, and technical support for Measurement Specialists and Meter Mechanics throughout Vectren’s operating territory. Responsibilities include short-term, long-term, and emergent work scheduling, training, and work management of bargaining unit employees. Day-to-day accountability for the performance of field repair/ calibration/ compliance reporting of gas measurement and auxiliary metering equipment to include large gas customer meter sets, company owned purchase points, SCADA equipment and the installation/ operation/ maintenance and accuracy of measurement equipment and the ability to prove the accuracy of all gas meters. Charged with conducting and documenting various safety education meetings with employees and discussions including Company Safety alerts presentations. Conduct, test, and document DOT mandated OQ and other skill assessments and training. Maintain a public liaison with police, fire, emergency, and government officials. Complete installation of large gas customer meter sets. Evaluate elevated pressure accounts, purchase points, and SCADA inspections/calibration. Analyze and report Gas Transportation and AMR consumption issues of non-register meters to billing. Dispatch and troubleshoot Gas Control Emergencies events that include loss of Purchase Point Station communication and loss of station control, including odorization. Maintain active status and participation in Distribution Measurement Committee of the MEA. Develop and implement Best Practices and Procedures for gas measurement. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards of 49 CFR 192, ANSI, IAC 170, and MIL 105D.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications Required: Associate’s degree in a technical discipline. Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree. Experience Required: 4 – 6 years of direct supervisory experience in the field of natural gas measurement. Preferred: 6+ years of direct supervisory experience. Functional/Technical Competency Requirements Required: Be familiar with and monitor employee compliance with DOT OQ requirements and Company Safety Programs and goals. Possess technical expertise in electronics to train, trouble shoot and repair process and communication equipment. Proficient with MS office products, measurement software, and other job efficiency technology. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet insurance requirements for operating company vehicles and equipment. Willingness to travel that may include overnight stay. Preferred: Expertise in and monitor employee compliance with DOT OQ requirements and Vectren Safety Programs. Possess documented technical electronic training to support in-house training of existing and incoming department employees. Competent with installation, trouble shooting, and repair process of communication equipment that includes analog, digital modem, and remote telemetry equipment.
