With limited supervision, the Business System Analyst II is responsible to serve as a liaison between Vectren’s business units and IT to assist in the definition, documentation, planning, execution, and testing of projects and releases, which are typically IT related and predominantly capital investments. Delivery of all work assignments, directions, and instructions based on the priorities and time parameters given by immediate supervisor. Work to understand business functional needs and develop utility business acumen over time. Work flexible hours, outside standard business hours, as required, to apply system maintenance, upgrades or to perform project implementation activities. Work with IT and business clients to define the scope and objectives for all assigned projects using standardized documentation techniques. Engage other IT resources on behalf of internal customers to validate technical requirements and obtain time estimates and costs. Preparation and maintenance of test plans and test scripts for manual and automated testing. Ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release. Lead execution of a test plan and test scripts to test software components and demonstrate the business requirements are delivered.
Education and Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or must be actively enrolled in an education program to complete a bachelor’s degree or have equivalent work experience of 6+ years. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field such as computer science. Experience Required: Typically will have 2 - 4 years general business experience. Typically will have 2 - 4 years of relevant professional work in information technology. Preferred: Process design skills.
