Job Summary:
JOB PURPOSE: The Engineer is responsible for development of Asset Strategies within Energy Delivery. It must implement consistent Reliability Centered Maintenance practices throughout the organization, review, analyze, and optimize Asset Strategies based on Asset performance data captured from various energy delivery systems. It is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to engineering design, and operation and maintenance standards. It is responsible for identifying and documenting performance measures for internal and external resources assisting with deliverables. It assists with management of a capital budget from inception through forecasting and reporting. The incumbent is responsible for the development of personal skill competencies and identify and recommend skill enhancement opportunities. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: General: Delivery of assigned projects through completion with moderate input from the Engineering Manager. Prioritize tasks with moderate input from Engineering Manager. Strive to achieve budgetary and business objectives through sound project management. Employ skills to resolve conflicts and coordinate with internal/external customers and contractors. Meet customer expectations in a timely manner. Recognize and report data/process anomalies and recommend solutions. Work flexible hours when required to meet critical deadlines. Achieve annual performance objectives established with supervisor. Manage electronic files in a structured format. Fully developed knowledge and understanding of Vectren’s O&M standards. File paper documents in accordance with company policies and standards. Participate in after-hours emergency response rotation as needed. Process Support: Assist with processing customer service requests and create necessary work orders. Assist with appropriate tasks as scheduled in response to internal and external customer requests, including providing computer aided drafting (CAD) services, report generation, and data querying. Assist with GIS land base updates related to service work or as directed. Provide assistance to Field Operations and Engineering by supplying customer, site, project, and equipment data as needed to facilitate completion of projects. Project Planning and Management: Report on progress throughout the life of the assignment/project. Acquire knowledge and training for system applications necessary to perform design and estimation functions for moderately complex projects. Assist with identifying, securing, and managing resources (internal or external) required to complete assignments/ projects. Begin to manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently. Begin to achieve budgetary and business objectives for moderately complex projects using sound management techniques.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications Required: Bachelor's degree, engineering, or engineering technology (ABET accredited program). Preferred: Mechanical or civil discipline. Master's degree - engineering, business, or related field. Engineer In Training (EIT) License. Experience Required: 2 - 4 years utility or relevant industry experience. Preferred: Gas or electric utility environment. Functional/Technical Competency Requirements Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project). Preferred: Competent with AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, enterprise asset management systems, or similar applications. Some knowledge of gas and/or electric distribution systems.
