Gas Service is Not Available in Your Neighborhood...
Sometimes natural gas may be in your vicinity, but not yet on your street. Before
Vectren can run a natural gas line down your street and to your home we need to
complete
a feasibility study.
Vectren, as a regulated utility, must follow certain rules and regulations when extending gas lines. There must
be enough natural gas service demand in your area to justify the labor and costs associated with extending gas
mains. Please understand that the process of surveying and extending gas mains may be lengthy and will
require your cooperation. We are prevented by regulation from installing a line if there will not be enough gas load.
If there is significant interest, we will arrange to have a gas line called a "main" installed on your street.
Smaller service lines feed off the main line to individual homes connecting you and your neighbors to the
comfort and convenience of natural gas!
