Our vision acknowledges that the economic health of our communities is integral and vital to our ability to prosper and grow. We focus our community involvement on developing creative solutions to meeting community needs.

The purpose of our Foundation is to contribute to the well being of the communities in which we live and work. We annually apply about 1 percent of pre-tax income to fund the Foundation and corporate contributions. In fact, the Foundation contributed nearly $2.1 million to nearly 588 organizations in 2006.

The Foundation focuses its efforts in four major areas of giving;

Education,
Arts & Culture,
Civic and
Health & Human Services.

Additionally, the Foundation offers incentives to Vectren employees to encourage volunteerism and charitable donations:
  • The Vectren Foundation will match any employee donation to an accredited college or university, up to $2,000 annually.
  • The Vectren Foundation will contribute $10 per employee for any team of five or more Vectren employees who participate in a fundraising event for a tax exempt agency.
  • Employee groups of 15 or more who each volunteer at least four hours toward an approved community project will be given a Foundation check of $2,500 to be presented to the project agency.
  • If a Vectren employee contributes 40 hours of volunteer service per year to a qualifying organization, the Vectren Foundation will donate $200 to that agency on behalf of the employee.

Muncie employees volunteered to help support public television programming by donating their time and talent on air for Ball State University’s WIPB-TV Spring Telesale.
