Funding Request

The Vectren Foundation strengthens the communities within our service territory through four major areas of giving: Education, Arts & Culture, Civic and Health & Human Services.

Education
We are committed to educating the children of the communities in which we serve through the following:
  • Improvement in the literary and critical thinking skills

  • Classroom programs teaching creative skills

  • Programs that prepare youth for higher education and entry into the workforce

  • Higher education programs that support technological and business interests of the natural gas or electric industry

Vectren sponsored the Morgan County Public Library’s Youth Art month, an annual celebration that is designed to emphasize the value of art education in schools.

Arts & Culture
We recognize the need to foster creativity and unique forms of human expression. Arts and culture funding requests are awarded to groups that support or offer the following:

  • Promote and support the performing arts

  • Preservation and presentation of graphic arts

  • Exploration, preservation and presentation of the history of our communities

To recognize the Foundation’s contribution to the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, the spring ballet classes were named in honor of Vectren. The Foundation sponsored the Arts Adventure program, which allows individuals, both young and old, to explore the wonderful world of arts.
