Guidelines for contributions
  1. The Vectren Foundation only awards grants to organizations exempt from Federal Tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
  2. Priority will be given to those organizations and activities that serve to improve the quality of life in the communities Vectren serves.
  3. Generally the Vectren Foundation will not make contributions to political, fraternal, labor or veteran's organizations, unless the activity is for direct community involvement. The Foundation does not make contributions to issues-oriented organizations.
  4. The Vectren Foundation will not support programs, activities or campaigns that advance a specific religious agenda. The Foundation will consider educationally-focused initiatives from private and parochial schools provided such institutions are not exclusive in regards to student eligibility requirements.
  5. In order to serve the broadest spectrum of community need, the Foundation will not award scholarships or grants that benefit individuals. This includes individuals raising funds for charitable purposes, student ambassador programs and sponsorship of individual sports or academic teams.
  6. The Foundation does not award grants involving travel outside of the Vectren Service Territory.
