Ready for natural gas service? Simply give us a call at 1-800-227-1376 or use the guide below to learn about the process of getting connected.

Step 1: Call Vectren to Determine Availability

Call a Vectren specialist at 1-800-227-1376 (option 6) to determine whether natural gas service is available to your existing home or new construction project. All you need is an accurate address.

After you have contacted Vectren and it has been determined whether natural gas service is available to your home:

If there is a natural gas main already near your home, an underground service line will need to be installed by Vectren to your home as well as a gas meter. If there is not a natural gas main already near your home, Vectren will need to determine the feasibility and costs of installing a new main to serve your home and/or neighborhood.


Step 2: Discuss Your Service With a Contractor

Discuss the details of your new natural gas service with your contractor, including the location of the natural gas meter and appliances you wish to install.

Step 3: Submit a Service Request

Submit a service request online as close to the date of ground breaking as possible. Speak with a Vectren representative at 1-800-227-1376 (option 6) if you have any questions while completing your request.

Step 4: Activate Your Natural Gas Service

Following any required inspections, contact Vectren at 1-800-227-1376 (option 6) to schedule an appointment to activate your new natural gas service.
