About these rebates

Heating and cooling costs make up the majority of your energy costs, which makes replacing your old or inefficient HVAC equipment one of the most impactful measures you can take to curb energy usage.

There are a variety of eligibility guidelines specific to each rebate. Please review all program requirements (PDF) before purchasing equipment or applying for rebates.

Available rebates

These rebates require the use of Vectren natural gas service as the primary heat source.

Rebate information for Gas boilers
Specification Rebate
90% AFUE or higher $300
Homes using Vectren natural gas as the primary heat source are eligible for this rebate.
Input capacity must be less than 300 MBTUH
AFUE = Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency

These rebates require Vectren electric service.

Rebate information for Central air conditioning units
Specification Rebate
16 SEER or higher $200
18 SEER or higher $500
Homes with Vectren electric service are eligible for this rebate.
SEER = Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio
Purchase must be a high-efficiency electric central air conditioner as part of an AHRI rated qualifying system.
An AHRI certificate must be submitted with the application. The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) maintain a directory of certified product performance for HVAC equipment. To obtain a copy of the AHRI certificate and certificate reference number, please visit: www.ahridirectory.org.

These rebates require the use of Vectren electric service as the primary heat source.

Electric air source, 16 SEER or higher $300
Electric air source, 18 SEER or higher $600
Homes using Vectren electric service as the primary heat source are eligible for this rebate.
SEER = Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio
Back-up heat must be electric, systems with gas furnace back-up are not eligible; geothermal heat pumps do not qualify.
Both the condenser and indoor unit must be replaced as part of an AHRI rated qualifying system.

Homes using dual-fuel (Vectren natural gas + Vectren electric service) as the primary heat source are eligible for this rebate.

Geothermal heat pumps do not qualify.

17 SEER or higher, 9.5 HSPF or higher $500
21 SEER or higher, 10 HSPF or higher $750
Homes using Vectren electric service as the primary heat source are eligible for this rebate. If home has Vectren electric service but natural gas is used as the primary heat source, then rebates are only available for installations in a new room addition or previously unconditioned space.
Installation must replace electric resistance heat.

These rebates require Vectren electric service.

Specification Rebate
Air purifier $25
Homes with Vectren electric service are eligible for this rebate.
Must be an ENERGY STAR® certified air purifier.
