About these rebates

Heating and cooling costs make up the majority of your energy bill, and new insulation can go a long way toward lower energy bills and a more comfortable home.

Customers must choose a program-approved contractor to qualify for these rebates. Insulation improvements are not eligible for rebates when installed in new construction. Click on each rebate name to view program-approved contractors.

These rebates require CenterPoint Energy electric or natural gas service.

Open attic: Existing insulation must be R-11 or below. Installed insulation must be R-38 or above. Enclosed attic/ceiling cavities: Existing insulation must be R-5 or below. Installed insulation must be R-13 or above. Homes that use a natural gas furnace in conjunction with an electric heat pump, known as a dual-fuel system, do not qualify for this rebate. Work must be completed by a program-approved contractor. All materials and work must be in compliance with local codes and performed per program standards. Attic must be inspected prior to insulating to ensure proper air sealing. Rebates cannot be provided if the attic is not air sealed. Special attention should be given to open wall cavities, chimney chases, plumbing and electrical penetrations, areas where the attic plane changes (for example: dropped ceilings and bulkheads above kitchens and baths).
