Vectren is participating in a voluntary electric power industry initiative, coordinated by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) to provide investors with a measurable and consistent format for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability-related information. The result of the initiative, EEI's ESG/sustainability template Version 1, will supplement Vectren's already substantial reporting on these issues, including its annual Corporate Sustainability report.
The template was developed by EEI under the guidance of an ESG/Sustainability Steering Committee and an ESG/Sustainability Investor Group. Vectren is a member of the EEI ESG/Sustainability Steering Committee. The template framework includes both qualitative information, including ESG/sustainability governance and strategy, and quantitative information, including data covering emissions, generation assets, portfolio data, and human and natural resources.

The resulting wood grain from our discarded pallets and reels is processed and used by customers like the Southworth family of GilMar Farms near Lynnville, Indiana, who utilize the mulch as animal bedding. The mixture of wood grain and cow waste creates enough heat to warm the barn in colder months and is later spread on fields in place of manufactured fertilizer.
A project to replace steel wire running along a Southwestern Indiana transmission line improved communications between substations and transmission system performance. The work involved a helicopter suspending workers from 95 feet in the air, which reduced the impact to properties in the project's path.

In addition to developing leadership skills, the students strengthened team-building and presentation capabilities.
