Project phases

The Whitestown project will be separated in two phases. Residents along either phase of the project route who would like natural gas service should notify CenterPoint Energy as soon as possible so service lines can be planned and service may be connected quickly.

Not sure if you are on the project route?

Please call 800-990-1930 for help determining where your location fits within our project. If you are outside of the boundaries of this particular project and are interested in receiving natural gas service, we would still love to hear from you as we plan our future project routes.

Phase 1 Map

Phase 1 of the project extends from the CenterPoint Energy regulator station, just south of E 400 S, to the new Moon Town Brewing, LLC, location. If your location is along the Phase 1 route and you wish to connect to natural gas service in 2017, it is important to contact your CenterPoint Energy representative immediately. See Phase 1 route map

  • Start date: July 17, 2017
  • Finish date: September 1, 2017
Phase 2 Map

Phase 2 of the project, stretching from Moon Town Brewing, LLC, to the rest of town (excluding Walker Farms Subdivision). See Phase 2 route map

  • Phase 2a

Phase 2a will encompass Main and Pierce Streets.

Natural gas main and service construction going North on Main Street past Pierce Street will begin shortly after multiple easements are acquired sometime in early 2018. West Pierce Street construction has been delayed due to forced route changes. Construction on the West Pierce Street portion of Phase 2a is still planned to begin in December 2018, but service will not be available until early 2018.

Additionally, inclement weather may delay some work past its planned date. Please continue to check this page for updates and make arrangements with your current heating source until we can get to you.

    • Planned start date: December 2017/early 2018
  • Phase 2b

Phase 2b will include all other side streets, and will likely begin in early 2018. While customers on this route should make other heating arrangements for this winter, it is important to call 800-990-1930 and enter your formal service request as soon as possible in case the planned timeline changes.

    • Planned start date: early 2018 (or after the completion of Phase 2a)
